On these two days our class discussions/exercises were geared towards helping us write better, and helping us to understand how to write under a certain topic/criteria. On thursday our class was about convincing, and persuading. They both kinda go hand and hand. For example, if i was trying to convince some one to be against abuse, in my effort to convince them i would also be persuading them.

March 23, March 25

March 23 is my birthday yeay!!!! I turned 19 for the first time. I woke up and my mother was all ready up and waiting for me to put my clothes on so that she could take me to the hair salon and the nail salon. I was so excited and reday to go. After i got my hair done we went to the nails salon, i got my nails designed the same colors i had on. I thought that i would have been finish all that before i had to be at school. But i didnt finish in time to make it to school.

Today we didnt have class, however today we had the opportunity to set up conference mettings with Professor Perkins. This also gave us the opportunities to work on our research papers.Our analytical/evaluation essays were also due today. I wasn't able to set up a conference today instead i was doing work. But i did talk to my professor and i set up another appointment for another day.

March 15-21

We had spring break for a whole week! Most people that i talked to, talked about going out of town and stuff, but i didnt plan to go any where. I actually forgot about spring break, and when i did start thinking about places to go and things to do it was to late. I spent most of my spring break sleeping and doing work here and there. My spring break was also bad because, University of Baltimore let us go on spring break way before other colleges. My boyfriend had to go to school everyday that i was on spring break.

March 9, Match 11 Journal entry

On Tuesday, we went over pronouns, verbs etc..Some people in the class felt like they were back in elementary school, but i didn't feel that way. Some things that i learned in middle and elementary school i fotgot. So this class exercise was a great one, because it helped me to remember things i forgot, which are important when writing. We also had to turn in our analytical/evaluation writing plan today i planned on writing about Same Sex Marriage.

On Thursday our class exercise was about MLA citation, and quoting vs. paraphrasing. This was a much needed exercise, because i didnt know how to do any citations i always got some one to do them for me. I also learned that citations especially MLA aren't as hard as they look. We also discussed quoting and paraphrasing, at first i thought they were about the same. But after the discussion i was informed that there is a big difference. For example, paraphasing is when you take someone elses words and put them kinda in your own words, but you keep the same meaning. Quoting is taking someone exacts words and putting them in quotations marks.

Journbal Entry Feb 9 & Feb 11, 2010

These days i didnt attend school or class instead i was snowed in. I slept most of the day and when i wasnt sleeping i was either talking on the phone ,watching tv, or shoveling now.This un exspected blizard gave me a break that i needed so iam not that disappointed about being snowed in.

Today class went by pretty fast. We went over Carolina Cossey which i found very interesting, i think the class did to. Also today we had the opportunity to show our understanding of giving feed back on others work. For example we corrected the girls Ling paper from out of the Little Brown Book.

Today class was fun we were learning about how to provide feed back and not only that but how to provide good feed back. For exapmle instead of writing on someones paper that dont have a title whats the title, you could provied them with a suggestion of a title. All the assignments we did today help me narrow down the topics that i had chosen to write about.

Writ 101 Jan 28

Today was my second day of class and it did not go that well i was late because i got confused with the sign i saw on the door. Also i left early because i thought class was dismissed.When actually i should have waited until she said so , i was just mad because i was late and i knew that was one of her pep p's so i figured she would already be annoyed with me being late so why bother having a good day.Next time im going to try my hardest to get to class early so this wont happen again. Besides that when i did put that behind me for a while i did like what we were discussing about the different ways of writing and when to use them.

The first day of class was a little boring however i did like the way the class was set up and the people that were in my class. The teacher seemed like a nice person and good instructor, but she also seemed to be very strict especially about being late.
